Jayla Butler, Graphics Editor

Senior Jayla Butler is excited to tackle her second year on staff as The North Star’s very first Graphics Editor! She is looking forward to enhancing design for both the website and any print publications. She also hopes to share her voice through editorial writing and become a voice for the student body through on-camera work for the NOW. In addition to working on The North Star, Jayla is a part of Yearbook Editorial Board, First Class Executive Board and the girls’ cross country team.

Tanya Iyer, Editorials Editor

Tanya is a senior at Naperville North, and can barely wait to get started with a new year for The North Star! As Editorials Editor, Tanya is responsible for helping her fellow reporters transform their political, social, and cultural soapbox rants into eloquent masterpieces. In her free time, Tanya enjoys participating in spontaneous applause, giving and receiving happiness, and playing songs on the ukulele that shouldn’t be played on the ukulele (e.g. Gangsta Paradise) 🙂

Rachel Hale, Managing Editor

Rachel Hale is a Junior at Naperville North and this is her second year working on The North Star staff. She is looking forward to being Managing Editor and is excited to gain more writing and editing experience. In addition to her interest in journalism, Rachel enjoys coaching figure skating and is an Orchesis officer at North.

Kirubel Mesfin, Sports Editor

Kirubel Mesfin is a senior at Naperville North High School and serves as the Sports Editor and Multimedia Director for The North Star. He is looking forward to late-night writing sessions with the sports team and in-depth video making. In his free time, he’s either at a school sporting event…or editing media from a school sporting event.
