Instead of Homecoming…

By Lauren Wenig

From a poll conducted of 30 NNHS students, 43 percent will be attending the Homecoming dance, and 57 percent will not be attending the Homecoming dance.  There are countless alternate Homecoming activities, and all it takes is some cash and  an adventurous spirit to enjoy them.

  1. Laser Tag:  “Last year, my friends and I decided not to go to homecoming and instead went laser tagging” said Junior Alexa Kurtides.  She and her friends went to Chasers Laser Tag, located near Fox Valley Mall.  Not only does Chasers provide laser tag, but it also provides paintball.
  2. Dinner:  This year, however, Kurtides is planning on going out to dinner with her friends who are not attending to Homecoming.  Throughout the Naperville area, there are a number of places to dine on a number of budgets.  Downtown Naperville, specifically, has some excellent dining options.
  3. “After-parties:” For those not Homecoming bound, but want to be with their friends Homecoming night, they can always attend the “after-parties.”

If none of these ideas spark an interest there are many others, such as, bowling, roller-skating, ice-skating, shopping, apple picking, manicures and pedicures, and watching movies.  Although these are just a few ideas, the possibilities are endless.
