1. Get some exercise for both yourself and your dog at Naperville’s Dog Agility Fun Run. If you have never taken an agilitiy class or would like to practice on an open course, bring your dog on Saturday, May 31 to Whalon Lake in Naperville at 10:45 a.m. Tickets are $10 per dog and owner.
2. Calling all art fanatics! Starting Thursday, May 27, Downtown Naperville will display 27 chairs created by local artists at various locations. These chairs have been transformed using themes like “Black and Blue” and “Paris Through My Window.” Later, on June 12, these chairs will be auctioned at Wentz Hall.
3. On Saturday, May 31, Naper Settlement is hosting a bus tour around historic Chicago. The bus leaves at 8:30 a.m. and will visit the Graceland Cemetery and the Chicago History Museum. Tickets are $65 a person, and reservations are required. For more information, visit Naper Settlement.
4. School’s almost out! To bring in the summer fun, visit Frontier Sports Complex on Sunday, June 1 from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. for the “8th annual Naperville Park District Kite Fly Festival.” This free event will feature family-friendly activities, such as kite-flying lessons and live music from School of Rock, Neuqua Valley High School’s steel band and others. Participants can also bring their own kites and enjoy flying them in the open fields.
5. Liane Moriarty, Australian author of hit novel ‘”The Husband’s Secret,” will visit Anderson’s Bookshop this Sunday, June 1 at 2:00 p.m. to meet fans and share a sneak peek at her new novel, “Big Little Lies.” At the event, fans will also be able to pre-order “Big Little Lies.”
