These boots were made for walking…

By Perspectives Editor Jackie Stanley

This year, over the knee boots have been trending in the fashion world and around the halls of Naperville North, but they can be either an easy hit or a tragic miss.

If you are going to wear them, opt for a pair that suits your leg length. For example unless you look like Blake Lively, opt for a pair that rises to mid knee or just over the kneecap. Do this because a lot of the time if the boots are mid-thigh, they give the appearance of trashiness and tend to be very unflattering unless you have extremely long legs.

Another thing to avoid while wearing these boots are short, tight skirts or dresses because they will appear a lot shorter and inappropriate when paired with these boots.

Personally, I wear my mid knee boots with a pair of dark wash skinny jeans and a cute, loose top that’s on the shorter side. I do this because if the top is shorter, it helps to shrink the length of my torso and fake the appearance of long legs.

If you are a person on a budget who is looking for a pair of over the knee boots, check out DSW for a large variety at a reasonable. Also, Target tends to carry cute boots but generally you will have to order them online in order to get the size you need.
