In life, everyone strives to find a source of inspiration. We attempt to find something or someone that will drive us to accomplish tasks that otherwise would seem near impossible. Inspiration gives us strength and courage through times when often we would otherwise give up.
To say that my brother, Ross Bradley, is my inspiration comes across very cliché. It’s a been-there-done-that story where a little brother draws strength from his older mighty sibling who shows him the ropes of life. But in my case, in a variety of ways it is true.
Ross is 25 years old, and if the math is correct that is 7 years difference between him and myself. I’ve always looked at Ross’ life as a trial run for my own. Not at all to say I’ve mirrored his every move, but I have taken bits and pieces of his hectic life and molded them to fit my own style. (If you don’t believe the hectic part, he catches flying men and women for a living working for Cirque du Soleil.) Ross is and always will be the slightly over the top part of me that gets a little over-competitive and throws a Wii remote at the ceiling in attempt at bowling a 300, but so what. Along with all the crazy Ross-like attributes I’ve acquired over the years he also taught me firsthand the importance of dedication. If only I had a nickel for the number of times he failed time and time again in attempt at stopping my ferocious passing attack in Madden.
So call me cliché if you want, but my older brother is and always will be my source of inspiration. Now ask yourself, where does your inspiration resonate from?
