On Monday, a Naperville North High School student brought a BB gun onto school property, Principal Stephanie Posey said. NNHS deans and the school resource officer were alerted through a tip to the dean’s office.

“I’m thrilled that we have students here who feel some ownership of the safety and security of the building and can help us in that way,” Posey said in an interview.

In an email to Naperville North parents and guardians, Posey reiterated that any weapons on school ground are illegal and not allowed.
