Kirubel Mesfin, Sports Editor

Kirubel Mesfin is a senior at Naperville North High School and serves as the Sports Editor and Multimedia Director for The North Star. He is looking forward to late-night writing sessions with the sports team and in-depth video making. In his free time, he’s either at a school sporting event…or editing media from a school sporting event.

Hannah Jorstad, Editorials Editor

As a senior, Hannah is excited to be returning to The North Star for a second year. She looks forward to working with the multitude of opinions among staff as this year’s Editorials Editor! Aside from writing for The North Star, Hannah is President of DECA at Naperville North and Managing Editor for Vertigo Literary Magazine. Outside of school, Hannah is on staff for Operation Snowball, and in her free time, can be found hanging out with friends (probably exploring the city).

Jayla Butler, Graphics Editor

Senior Jayla Butler is excited to tackle her second year on staff as The North Star’s very first Graphics Editor! She is looking forward to enhancing design for both the website and any print publications. She also hopes to share her voice through editorial writing and become a voice for the student body through on-camera work for the NOW. In addition to working on The North Star, Jayla is a part of Yearbook Editorial Board, First Class Executive Board and the girls’ cross country team.

Rachel Hale, Managing Editor

Rachel Hale is a Junior at Naperville North and this is her second year working on The North Star staff. She is looking forward to being Managing Editor and is excited to gain more writing and editing experience. In addition to her interest in journalism, Rachel enjoys coaching figure skating and is an Orchesis officer at North.
