Suzanne Cooke, NNHS Dean of Students passed away yesterday after a 10-year battle with cancer.
Cooke worked at NNHS for 12 years serving students and faculty. According to a letter sent out by Principal Kevin Pobst to NNHS families, she was dedicated to her job and huskie family.
During her time at NNHS, Cooke served as Dean of Students, and also assumed roles as an assistant athletic director and co-sponsor of the Fellowship of Christian Athletes.
Cooke continued with her job throughout her entire fight with cancer. She took a leave of absence on March 4th, just a week before passing away.
According to Pobst, the staff was informed of Cooke’s passing at a staff meeting this morning. Teachers announced the news to their students during first hour classes.
Information regarding Cooke’s memorial service has not yet been released. The North Star will publish this information as soon as Cooke’s family has provided it.
