NNHS is filled with a variety of opportunities, however, there is a once in a lifetime trip to go to Europe during the spring break. Mr. Green, Mr. Janssen and Ms. Stebnicki are the three hosts who go along with the students on the trip. From March 29 to April 7, students will get to travel to four different countries and visit a number of sights.
“It is one thing to teach students through textbooks and another to experience it in a fun way and that is what we are trying to accomplish,” said Lisa Stebnicki.
During this trip, students will be exposed to different types of cultures and foods. They will also be able to visit a number of museums and see a variety of famous landmarks. The three countries they will be visiting are Venice, Salzburg, Vienna and Prague; each with an entirely different climate and type of culture.
“There is something that makes traveling more fun when it comes to being with only their peers and we feel it is not only more fun for them but gives them a sense of independence. We also really want this trip to be a learning experience yet make it as fun and enjoyable as possible,” said Stebnicki.
On this trip, about 25 students attend however; there are around 40 students who are able to attend. These students can be of any grade and do not have to a part of any special curricular activity.
“There is no doubt that the trip is expensive, but we and the tour guide company have made sure that the kids will have a worthy time. Due to the knowledgeable tour guide and the fun chaperones this trip is a once in a lifetime chance,” said Stebnicki.
This trip is quickly approaching. It is highly advised to the students who are thinking of taking part in this trip to sign up as soon as possible because of the down payments. Susan Overly is the director of this trip and has worked hard in bringing it together. Having gone on it in previous years, she knows that it is a very fun and exciting journey to be a part of.
