On Sunday, February 26th the Naperville North Booster Club will be hosting the “Seniors on Parade” Booster Club Fashion Show for the 12th straight year.
The Fashion Show will be held at 11:00 am at Bobak’s Signature Room, honoring the accomplishments and positive impacts of nearly 110 NNHS seniors.
“A lot of work goes into the show, but I can say that we love doing it and we have a great time as a committee,” said main organizer, Anna Fattore.
The Fashion Show, along with the many other Booster Club events, is geared towards raising money for all of the NNHS sports teams and various activities. Specifically, the money raised helps buy new uniforms, equipment, and other needed materials.
The 110 participants that make up the show are outstanding seniors that have been chosen by their coaches and sponsors. Fattore along with the staff asks the coaches and sponsors to choose team captains that have made a positive impact on their peers and have displayed leadership. Also, various seniors are chosen because of their tremendous work ethic and positive attitude.
“I’m so excited, ever since I saw the show when I was a sophomore, my hope was to be in it my senior year,” said senior participant, Nicolette Josupait.
As it has ran in the past, the show opens with a reception allowing people to socialize, and view and purchase tickets for the raffle baskets. The NNHS Jazz Band also plays during the reception and this year a quartet of singers from the Choir Department has been added.
During the main event of the show, seniors are commemorated for their accomplishments in front of numerous families and the NNHS community.
Fattore said that they have students emcee the show and announce the seniors as they walk down the runway and discuss all of their accomplishments at NNHS along with their future goals.
“I’ll be walking down the runway in a prom dress feeling like a princess with one of my senior men escorting me, how could anything surpass that?” said senior participant, Evanthia Vranas.
The reservation deadline to buy tickets for the Fashion Show ends Sunday, February 19th.
