DC United midfielder Dwayne de Rosario is a deadly offensive weapon who is taking the MLS season by storm.
Rosario is from Ontario and will be most likely playing with the Canadian national soccer team at the next World Cup. Although he has seen exquisite success so far this season, he will not be satisfied until he makes the MLS playoffs.
“It’s working out for now,“ said Rosario in a USA Today article. “We’re still not in the playoffs. Until we make the playoffs then I can say it’s working out.”
Rosario has moved around a lot this year. He started off playing for Toronto FC, then was traded to the NY Red Bulls, and finally came to play for DC United. So far Rosario has played in 31 of 33 games and started in 29. Averaging .52 goals for every 90 minutes of time on the field, he puts out quality time with ever minute he is on the pitch.
Rosario leads the league in multiple statistics. He is currently tied with Chris Wondolowski of the San Jose Earthquake for goals with 15. Although he is tied, he still has more assists, placing in 4th for assists with 12.
Another stat that he stands out in is shots and shots on goal. He places in 3rd for shots with 100 and 2nd for shots on goal (SOG) with 41. His SOG to shots percentage of 41% is very close Wandolowski, who has a percentage of 47%.
