Swifty yard sale fundraiser to happen Friday and Saturday

Naperville North’s DECA and NHS teams will be hosting a yard sale over the upcoming weekend to raise money for the Swifty Foundation.

The Swifty Foundation is a charity that aims to fight pediatric brain cancer through funding research programs like the Children’s Brain Tumor Tissue Consortium and Post-Mortem Tissue Donation program at the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia, according to the Swifty Foundation website.

The yard sale will take place outside the greenhouse near the bus lot at NNHS and will last from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Oct. 6 and 7. According to DECA advisor Carliss Harris, this is the second year DECA and NHS will be holding a yard sale to raise money for the Swifty Foundation. Last year, the yard sale raised over $1,700 for the Swifty Foundation, a number DECA and NHS aim to top this year, according to Harris.

“DECA wants to help the community in any way possible and we’re always looking for other ways to serve,” Harris said.
