Time Out with Carly Shisler

Naperville North senior Carly Shisler began lacrosse more recently than most people think. But that didn’t stop her from making the varsity girls lacrosse team her freshman year. Later, Shisler went on to become the captain for three out her four years in the program.
Q: How long have you been playing lacrosse?
A: “I have been playing since the summer before my freshman year. It’s only been about 3.5 years.”
Q: What club experience do you have?
A: “I have played two years now for True Lacrosse.”
Q: What is your favorite moment from high school lacrosse?
A: “Probably last year when we won against Central. It was their senior night so it was super exciting for us because we were away. It was just a really good game.”
Q: What position do you play?
A: “I play midfield and center so I take draws. Personally, I hate midfield because you have to run a lot and that’s not fun, but I like the fact that I can play defense and play attack and take draws too.”
Q: What are you looking forward to most this season?
A: “I’m looking forward to having three teams because this is the first year that lacrosse has had three teams. And I’m looking forward to that this is probably the strongest year that our varsity team has ever had. We have some really good freshmen on the team. I think it’s just going to be a good year.”
