NNHS hosted the Homecoming Carnival last week in the Field House for both students and family members.
Organized by Freshman Board, the carnival was a night filled with fun and games to showcase the various clubs and endless opportunities at NNHS.
Jennifer Baumgartner, Dean of Student Activities said it’s a good activity for families.
“It brings the community into our high school to show what we have to offer,” Baumgartner said.
Generally, the Homecoming Carnival is held on the Friday before Homecoming week, but in the past few years this date has always been booked. This year’s carnival was the rebirth of what has been a very popular and well liked event by students, families and faculty members.
The Homecoming Carnival is geared towards junior high and elementary students, giving them the opportunity to get a taste of what high school is all about. The carnival is a great event for students to bring younger siblings, and for faculty members to bring their kids.
NNHS students also enjoy the Homecoming Carnival just as much as the younger siblings and kids do, said Tim Rinker, Math teacher and freshman board sponsor.
“It’s a great way for the students to kick off Homecoming week,” Rinker said.
